Have you ever had a record you bought, listened to with the appropriate attention and classified it in your head as a good record and then filed it away? I did that with the Canadian hardcore band Comeback Kid and their first two albums Turn It Around and Wake The Dead. I am not sure why but the other night I started playing Wake The Dead for the first time in years and I really liked what I was hearing. I moved that record onto my ipod and am looking forward to having it back in my rotation. It's always fun re-discovering a record you already own.
This song, however, is from the band's debut on Facedown Records, Turn It Around. This track opens the record and kicks you in the teeth. Great song. I can actually remember hearing this in my car on Ocean Avenue in Long Branch, NJ many years ago when I had been having a particularly down couple of weeks and this song really picked me up and helped change my attitude around.
Key Lyric: "All this time with regret / I just lost today / Worrying about yesterday!"
Comeback Kid - All In A Year
The first two albums by these guys are just stellar. My personal favorite is the title track from Wake The Dead. When the song gets to YOU SAID YOU SAID YOU SAID I just want to jump off my furniture and break stuff.

Dude I totally agree! Wake The Dead is a great record. Do you have Broadcasting, with the new singer? I haven't heard it but thinking of checking it out now that I am on a little CBK kick.

I listened to Broadcasting a lot when I was in Iraq in 2007. Maybe it was the fact that there was a new vocalist or maybe it was the fact that I was just getting into Blacklisted, but I've never been that impressed by the record. It's worth another try, though.
Speaking of vocalists... the new This is Hell is a real disappointment, mostly because the vocalist doesn't sound like he gives a shit.

Good to know. I think I'll check it out. I am really digging Wake The Dead right now.
Man, a singer who sounds like he doesn't care will just kill otherwise good music.
